Our Mentors
We are …

… the “Hidden Partners.” ®
Terri — I have been married to my LEO husband for 17 years, all mostly good! My husband has worked for the SBSO for 21 1/2 years in a variety of capacities. We have a great little boy – six years old that keeps us busy and truly is a blessing from God.
I am on the executive committee for my sons PTA and am active in my local church. I have also been on the leadership team for our local MOPS organization. I work part time on my own business as well as assist a local vintner with his clubs. In my spare time I enjoy family activities, horse riding, gardening, home decorating and numerous other outdoor activities.
I look forward to getting to know fellow LEO spouses and support both the hidden partners as well as the everyday heros we have chosen to walk along with on this life path.

Jenny L. – I have been married to my husband since 1990. He has been with SBSO since 1985. We have a great son who was born in 1993 (Born on my birthday, as a matter of fact). My husband has worked mostly as a patrol deputy but has experience with the Mounted Unit, was a Detective in Forensics, and is currently a K-9 Handler for the Department. His K-9 partner is trained in police protection and narcotics detection. I also work for SBSO as a Custody Deputy assigned to conduct administrative investigations. I have been with the Department since 1988. I worked as a Dispatcher before becoming a Custody Deputy in 1993. Besides working in the actual jail, I worked as a Background Investigator in Sheriff’s Human Resources. I am fairly well-versed in Human Resources issues and still have good contacts for HR questions.
My husband and I have been through the greatest of times and some real awful times too with relation to his work. He has experienced Post Traumatic Stress and we both worked very hard to get him back on track. It was one of the toughest journeys we have ever made. I learned a lot about PTSD warning signs after it was bit too late. I have definitely grown as a LEO wife about as much as he has grown as a law enforcement officer and we are still learning. I am extremely proud of my hubby and all of his partners, human and canine.
I admit to a “touch” of OCD, so, in my spare time, I work in the yard or tackle projects around the house to get them just right. We both love to spend time with our teenage son and he and his dad ride ATV’s and shoot skeet/trap. I also play tennis with some girlfriends every Sunday. I grew up with a sports/tomboy background so I have a touch of competitiveness still left in me. Call on me anytime!
